Tastes Like Nintendo

Nintendo Mints

So, we had an amazing weekend downtown. We spent the day on Saturday getting our hair done and shopping. I picked up some sweet Nintendo Mints and also some new black leather trainers from Royal Elastics. It was a great relaxing day just chilling around downtown with no particular schedule to keep. Mid-afternoon we checked into the Strathcona Hotel and lounged about until the evening’s event: EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL!

Evil Dead The Musical

The show was at the Diesel Playhouse, which is a nice small venue just up the street from the Skydome. It had all the benefits of a small intimate theater. The seating is arranged in rows for easy viewing of the stage, however all the seats are situated around bar-style tables which allow for drinks and snacks to be comfortably within arm’s reach. Although the theater was small, it packed a serious punch when it came to stage effects. I don’t want to spoil anything in case you’re interested in seeing it, but I will say this: the front two rows are called the ’splatter zone’ for a VERY good reason.

So now that the new website is up and running I’m going to dedicate my time to finishing up the array of studio projects that I have allowed to flounder over the last week. Working on the site has been a refreshing change from the usual work in the studio, but now I’m getting an itch to sit down and work on some music. I’m expecting Guy Michael in the studio again over the next week after a bit of a hiatus due to our mutually crazy schedules so expect some exciting updates over the next couple of days.

Tigerstyle

Lastly, I’d like to draw your attention to a recent post over at Mad Decent. The post in question features a mix by Tigerstyle entitled “Switchin It Up” that is, well, pretty decent. With a mix of Bhangra, Breaks, Electro and Hip Hop this mix has earned a feature slot in my iPod playlist for the last few days. If you are into world music, or anything with a groove, then head over there and check it out.
