so, Gobs didn’t make it over to the studio last night. we’ve postponed until later this week. as a result i got a chance to put some more work into the Zombootie remix.
i’m not sure if this is just me, or if all “artists” go through this but my attention span for creative things can be really short sometimes. like, on the first day i work on a project i get really excited and build almost a whole song in one shot. then i go back to it the next day and for whatever reason i start second guessing everything i was doing before.
the Zombootie remix is kinda in this situation at the moment. i’ve got the whole track laid out and i like all the individual ideas for the most part. i just feel like maybe there are too many ideas crammed into the track and it’s sounding a bit schizophrenic. the idea i was going for was to keep things unexpected and depart from the “traditional” structure of a house track, but i feel like it maybe comes out of left field a little too often… maybe i need to work on the transitions between ideas a little more.
i guess i’ll wait and get Gobs’ opinion on the whole thing.
