So, I’ve been sitting on this info for almost a week. I wanted to make sure everything was official before I announced it all but let me tell you, keeping quiet about things runs entirely contrary to my nature. Typically, I am one of those spastic “blurts out what he is thinking whether appropriate or not” kinda guys. Anyway all the details are worked out, the contracts are done and now that I have sufficiently hyped it up:
Drumroll please…
Zombootie (Kink Remix) has been signed by Bassteasers Digital!
Who? What? How? Yeah, ok… let me start from the beginning: Bassteasers Digital is the new digital music label run by Bassteasers, a Toronto-based events company. The label is comprised of two divisions: hard dance and funky electro (although genre lines seem to be getting so blurry these days so who knows where that concept will take them over time). It’s set to Launch later this month, which brings me to my second announcement:
I’m scheduled to play the official launch party on April 25th! This is a cover-free party being held at IV Lounge in Toronto. If you’re in town and you want to check out some quality artists and get in a bit of hobnobbing and/or shmoozing you should drop by and check it out. I have had a chance to preview the the upcoming Bassteasers Digital releases from KloneZ and The Industrial Spies and there is some great material there so it should be interesting to see how they get down live.
Signing the track also means that Zombootie (Kink Remix) is no longer available from this site. Have no fear! The Bassteasers guys are currently working hard to firm up the release schedule and get fully set up with all their online distributors. In the meantime the first online outlet has already begun stocking the inaugural releases by The Industrial Spies and KloneZ. You can peruse the online shop here.
