Enter the man with the plan! B.Rich is an artist that has been earning regular rotation in my mixtapes and on my iPod. He describes his style as “Electro, bassline, house, baltimore with hints (or huge doses) of early 90s revival”. Whatever you want to call it, his tunes are dope and I am digging them big time.
Maybe it’s his mysterious secret identity as a successful happy hardcore DJ that somehow grants him the uncanny knack of producing tunes with the “fun dial” totally cranked. I think what I like most about his tracks is the fact that none of them seem to take themselves too seriously. Don’t get me wrong, his production skills are nothing to be trifled with and every track of his delivers dancefloor destroying basslines and crisp, well defined percussion. But the thing I notice is that he’s not afraid to throw in some ear catching synth lines and appeal to the old school raver in all of us. In a scene where the aesthetic leans towards the nonchalante, it’s refreshing to hear a dash of zany exuberance shine through.
